Toyota’s Bozhi 7 Breaks Industry Norms by Integrating Both Huawei and Xiaomi Ecosystems

In a landmark move for the joint-venture automotive sector in China, GAC Toyota’s upcoming all-electric flagship sedan, the Bozhi 7, will feature an unprecedented fusion of technologies from both Huawei and Xiaomi. Set for launch in March 2026, the vehicle marks a significant shift in Toyota’s strategy, blending its traditional manufacturing prowess with cutting-edge Chinese smart-tech ecosystems.
The Bozhi 7 adheres to Toyota’s evolving electric design language, featuring full-width LED light clusters at both the front and rear. Its sleek fastback silhouette, complemented by a two-tone color scheme, delivers a distinctive and modern aesthetic that stands out in the competitive mid-to-large EV segment.
Inside, the cabin embraces a minimalist design trend, highlighted by extensive use of premium leather materials accented with wood-grain trim—offering a tactile quality that rivals domestic new-energy vehicles in the same price bracket. The centerpiece of the interior is the Huawei HarmonyOS 5.0 smart cockpit. Powered by the MoLA large-model architecture, the system enables “long-term memory and proactive service” capabilities, accurately interpreting even vague voice commands to deliver a highly intuitive user experience.
Notably, the Bozhi 7 is the first joint-venture model to deeply integrate Xiaomi’s “Human-Car-Home” ecosystem. This allows seamless connectivity with Xiaomi smart devices—including tablets, smart speakers, and digital keys—facilitating cross-platform interaction between smart home and vehicle environments.
The Bozhi 7 adopts a front-mounted single-motor layout across all trims, utilizing Huawei’s DriveONE electric drive unit with a maximum output of 207 kW. Buyers can choose between two battery options: 71.35 kWh and 88.13 kWh, delivering CLTC-rated pure-electric ranges of 600 km, 700 km, and up to 710 km, respectively.
This strategic collaboration—combining Huawei’s intelligent cockpit and electric drive systems with Xiaomi’s IoT ecosystem and Toyota’s engineering heritage—signals a new era for traditional automakers in China. As one GAC Toyota executive stated, “Transformation means abandoning illusions and fighting for survival. The Bozhi 7 embodies our commitment to a China-led R&D approach.”
With its competitive pricing targeting the 200,000 RMB segment, the Bozhi 7 aims to challenge established players like the XPeng P7+ and Honda’s EV offerings, redefining what a joint-venture electric vehicle can achieve in the smart mobility age.
